Plastic coil is the most forgiving binding style. Pages turn a full 360 degrees and fold back-to-back, so a bound book sits flat on a desk. The coil flexes under pressure and then springs back, while a wire spine creases permanently. Finally, you can trim and crimp each coil to any document size after inserting it.
