Selecting a suitable coil diameter

Choose the coil diameter according to the number of pages in your document. An 8mm coil handles approximately 52 sheets of 20 lb bond. A 14mm coil accommodates approximately 115 sheets of the same paper. When your page count sits near the limit, choose the next larger diameter. This gives the pages enough room to turn smoothly without making the binding too tight.
